Launching an online course, step by step

The video above is truly the first step in creating an online course.

Before you sell it, you have to understand who you are creating the course for and what is the result you are going to give them.

You do that by doing a braindump on a Google Doc exactly as explained in the video above.

I have created multiple courses and digital products myself which are making me money on a daily basis.

The process I follow is very similar every time.

  • Map out the course content: Who it is for, what problem is solves, how does it solve it, the modules, and lessons, the result someone will get by the end of it.
  • Take that content and convert it into a sales page so I can pre-sell the course before creating it.
  • Send traffic to that sales page, i.e. get people who might be the potential customers for it to read it.
  • If people don't buy, either abandon the project and not waste more time on it or refine the sales page, the offer, and try again.
  • Once I made sales and have proof that people want it, I create the course.
  • I give those early buyers access to the first version and collect feedback.
  • Optimize and update the course based on feedback.
  • Re-launch the course again or turn it evergreen so it sells over and over with everything automated.

I go through this process in detail in my workshop, "How to pre-sell your first digital product".

This is available for standalone purchase here.

It is also included in my memberships.

Creating the actual content for the course includes learning how to record videos, create presentations using Canva, learning how to edit videos or outsource the video editing, and so much more.

I will cover all of that in a separate resource on this website.

Pro tip: The process I shared with you above works very similar to ANY type of digital product, service or membership. When I launch a new membership or a new offer, I almost ALWAYS pre-sell before creating.
